STAFF NURSE
DEFINITION
Licensed RN/LPN to work in non-profit health care clinic.
- 30-40 hour per week position; day/evening hours
- Supervisor: Director of Clinic Operations
- Probationary period: 6 months
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- Nursing Degree from accredited institution.
- Three years clinical experience in patient care.
- Phlebotomy skills preferred.
- EKG, Spirometry and ear irrigation proficiency preferred.
- Fundamental oral understanding and ability to communicate in Spanish preferred, not required

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Daytime and Evening Clinic Duties
- Assist Director of Clinic Operations during daytime and evening clinics to maintain efficient clinic flow
- Assist Medical Director, Staff Physician and volunteer providers with patient care during daytime and evening clinics, as needed
- Assist scheduled and walk-in patients during clinic hours
- Assist with phlebotomy, EKG, spirometry, blood pressures, pregnancy testing and ear irrigation as directed and as needed.
- Perform services in a comprehensive and consistent manner, in accordance with established Clinic policies and protocols
- Assist Director of Clinic Operations as needed with coordination of patient care, including but not limited to laboratory result notifications, notification of medication changes, arranging radiology referrals, providing client education and making referrals for additional care and needed resources.
- Assist Director of Clinic Operations with management of vaccine clinics and other specialty services as needed
- Assist Director of Clinic Operations as needed with post-clinic chart review
- Assist Director of Clinic Operations as needed with clinic tasks including autoclaving of instruments
- Coordinate patient medication assistance programs through pharmaceutical companies
- Enter patient outcome measure data for Case Management patients into Access spreadsheet.
- Check in donated supplies.
- Assist with new volunteer trainings as needed (lab volunteers, patient guides)
- Represent the clinic through public speaking and at community events as directed.
- Answer phone lines, as needed.
- Attend staff meetings.
