Now Hiring a 7 day on/7 day off Hospice Nurse
Summary:
Care Initiatives is currently hiring an On-Call Hospice nurse. This role offers 7 days on and 7 days off as a FT position. Make your 80-hour salary in 7 days and enjoy a full week off! This position takes calls from 4:30 P.M until 8:00 A.M. each night as well as taking calls through the weekend. Some scheduled visits also assigned.
This critical role supports patients and families in the hour of their greatest need and responds to emergent needs on weekends, evenings, and overnight. Our team goes when called to assist the caregivers and patients, provide meds available and offer teaching to ensure comfort for pain, breathlessness, dying/transitioning or support at the time of death with compassion, integrity, respect and dignity in all our interactions. Qualifications:
- RN or LPN with a minimum of two years of recent clinical nursing experience
- Demonstrated patience and a supportive and sensitive approach to providing patient, family and caregiver needs
- Commitment to excellence and consistency
- Current, valid Iowa registered nurse license
- Current, valid CPR certification
- Must be able to meet criminal background check policy requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to provide lifting, turning ambulatory assistance to patients
- Willingness and ability to provide care in facility and patient home settings
- Insurable by Care Initiatives auto insurance and be willing to drive to provide hospice care
