Would you describe yourself as organized, positive, a leader, caring, driven and a person with a can-do attitude?  Then apply here!  We are looking for a caring and experienced RN or LPN  to serve as our Assistant Director of Nursing.

Summit Pointe Senior Living Community is a beautiful and upscale senior housing community offering Independent and Assisted Living as well as Memory Care in Marion, IA.  Our team is committed to providing exceptional customer service to our tenants and their families as well as superior care.  The Assistant Director of Nursing will be a driver to ensure all nursing staff members are practicing our standards.

The Assistant Director of Nursing works closely with and reports to the Director of Nursing.
Essential functions include:
  • The ability to develop the nursing team staff members; must be a team builder and have experience interviewing, onboarding and training new and current staff
  • Coordinate the care of tenants
  • Assists in regulatory compliance and quality assurance – Demonstrates competence in assessment skills and medication administration
  • Willing and capable to work as a CNA when needed, on any shift
  • Assists with the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures
  • Shares on-call responsibilities with other nurses
  • Assures that staffing is in place according to tenant needs
  • Assists with scheduling as assigned
  • Responsible for onboarding new staff and developing the staffs skills with on-going training; will include working any shift necessary
  • Supervises staff and assures compliance on a daily basis
  • Maintains prompt and regular attendance
  • Current knowledge of state and federal assisted living regulations
  • Computer skills including: email, word processing, spreadsheet use, work scheduling systems and related long term care software
  • Ability to plan, assign and direct work of others
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to lead by example as well as work as a team
  • Assists in  engagement, counseling, performance management and evaluations for the staff.
