Soil and Water Conservation Coordinator

Job Information:

Johnson County Planning, Development and Sustainability (PD&S) Department currently seeks a Soil and Water Conservation Coordinator to review sensitive areas and storm water site plans for technical compliance. This position will write and manage grant applications and other funding proposals to enhance the District's or County's programs and/or accelerate the application of best management practices to improve the quality of soil, water, and related natural resources. Will manage soil and water projects. In conjunction with Johnson County Soil & Water Conservation District (JCSWCD) Commissioners carry out the District's programs and plan of operations. Work closely with landowners to determine extent of conservation problems, assist with county sustainability related initiatives and provide administrative, education and technical support to the JCSWCD.

Bachelor's degree in agriculture, natural resources or other relevant major AND one (1) year of experience OR any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Special requirements: Valid driver's license and insurable under County liability coverage. May also require use of private vehicle for official business. Obtain one of the following licenses within 6 months of employment: Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control (CISEC) or Iowa Certified Construction Site Pollution Prevention Inspector (ICCSPPI).

Compensation: $53,188.98 - $62,575.50 plus outstanding benefits.
