Meld Marketing is looking for a content wizard who has very strong writing skills and a passion for translating business and non-profit strategies into engaging, compelling, and results-oriented content. This is a full-time, largely remote position. 

This position requires someone who has a proven track record working across digital platforms, including social, email, SMS, Google Ads, blogs, SEO, websites, landing pages, and more. They also need to have familiarity working in print, ranging from brochures to postcards to magazines. 

One of Meld’s strengths is our personal interactions with our clients. This person will interact daily with a highly collaborative and talented internal team. Applicants must be true self-starters and be comfortable being client-facing, oftentimes engaging directly to ask questions, solve problems, and move projects forward. We are looking for someone who has had agency experience, is an excellent communicator, thrives in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment, and has the discipline and skills to work remotely.

REPORTS TO: Vice President of Client Relations


  • Be highly collaborative with the Meld team and our clients. 
  • Meld is a remote company. But please note that all of our team members are responsible for being on site for key client meetings/events as needed. This is typically not more than once a month. 
  • Translate client goals and brand strategies into clear, compelling content across audiences and channels
  • Develop the persona, set the voice, tone, and messaging strategies, providing thoughtful content reflective of the target audience
  • Create content for campaigns for social media, digital ads, emails, video scripts, newsletters, press releases, landing pages, websites, packaging, print, and other mediums. 
  • Have a growth mindset. We all know digital marketing advances daily. This person must have a passion for understanding the today and tomorrow of where content belongs. They must be as excited about working to better understand the platforms, funnels, and segmentations as well as for creating the content itself. 
  • Write, edit, and proof original copy that is exciting, engaging, and drives results.
  • Be adept at working in platforms from Sprout Social and HootSuite to HubSpot, Mail Chimp, Survey Monkey, and more. Our clients use many different platforms, and it’s important that this person be comfortable going in and out of different CRMs and platforms, including natively on social channels. 
  • Provide strategic input to our team and clients around awareness to conversion campaigns as well as email audience segmentation, personalization, personas, and more. 
  • Conduct research to formulate ideas that support engaging and targeted content.
  • Balance strong conceptual copy with marketing best practices and consumer emotional and tangible benefits to create highly effective content and campaigns
  • Ability to quickly shift content voice to align with client brand standards and style guides.
  • Able to create and absorb key brand and product insights.
  • Skills to interview internal and external stakeholders to capture needed insights.
  • Stay current on all digital content trends across channels and share with the team.
  • Have the ability to handle competing priorities, be able to meet deadlines, and be organized.
  • Have the capacity to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to self-manage, prioritize, and communicate progress when working on multiple projects.
  • Ensure that internal processes are followed.
  • Learn the Meld brand voice for internal projects.

Requirements (Must Haves)

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • At least 5-7 years of professional experience as a content creator
  • Agency experience
  • Preference for candidates who live within 90 miles of Iowa City
  • Ability to translate brand strategies into clear, compelling content across audiences and channels
  • Expertise in social media platforms such as Hootsuite, Sprout Social; in CRMs such as HubSpot, Sharpspring; email platforms such as Mail Chimp and Constant Contact; online survey tools such as Survey Monkey; and WordPress
  • Has outlined, researched, drafted, and owned revisions for content like:
    • Organic and Paid Social Posts/Graphic Copy
    • E-Mail Marketing
    • Websites and Landing Pages
    • Digital Ads
    • Brand Guides
    • Scripts
    • Blogs
    • Newsletters
  • Proven experience working on strategic initiatives around content (e.g., content strategies, content auditing, content generation, pitch deck support, audience research, editing/proofing)
  • Proven experience creating advertising concepts and messaging that is on brand and drives brand recognition and conversion
  • Works closely with creative teams since we believe that content and design work hand in hand to create the best outcomes. 
  • Adept at creating creative briefs that outline a content strategy behind the project: always asking “Who is this for?” “What CTA is best, given our other campaigns?” “What about this piece drives value?”
  • Excellent critical thinking/problem-solving skills; strong judgment and the ability to make decisions independently
  • A passion for language, a love of writing, and a demonstrated ability to create narratives; attention to writing detail, including flow, grammar and style
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Capacity to run reports in social media tools, email automation platform, and Google Analytics, present findings to the client and explain what those results mean when compared alongside their marketing goals. 


  • Experience in Google Suite, Google Meet, Slack, Toggl, and Asana.  
  • Podcast creation experience
