Marketing Specialist

Coe College seeks an innovative, creative and detail-orientated Marketing Specialist to join the Office of Marketing.  The Marketing Specialist will contribute to the effective and efficient execution of the college’s marketing and communication efforts by managing several key marketing components. This position will work with internal client-partners to: define print, digital and multimedia requests, develop strategies to meet those requests, manage work-flow and approvals, coordinate communications and monitor the projection process from intake to delivery ensuring deliverables are timely and of the highest quality while aligning with Coe College’s brand strategy. In addition, this position will communicate the programs, accomplishments and brand of the College through community (both internal and external) events, fairs, sponsorships and other avenues. The Marketing Specialist will assist in managing and posting on behalf of Coe on the institution’s primary social media accounts. The overarching purpose of the position is to support the admission-focused goals of the office by attracting prospective students, donors and friends of the College and retaining existing ones while fostering excitement about the Coe brand through a comprehensive multichannel approach.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the management of Coe’s primary social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and others) by posting relevant and engaging content daily, and engaging and interacting with users as appropriate.
  • Effectively manage multiple cross-functional, cross departmental and concurrent projects (print, digital, multimedia) using project management tools and software (Redbooth, Asana, Basecamp).
  • Identify assets, resources and timing necessary to complete projects that meet goals, budgets, deadlines and branding guidelines.
  • Coordinate sponsorship opportunities and commitments.
  • Develop a variety of original content including student and faculty profiles, alumni success stories, program highlights, etc.
  • Serve as a lead website editing administrator within the Marketing Office and provide website editing training for other users on campus.
  • Brainstorm, develop, coordinate and execute events (i.e. parade participation, College appearances at community events, etc.) on the Coe campus and in the community to promote the College.
  • Represent the College at community and campus functions.
  • Oversee the Charlie Kohawk Crew and appearances of Charlie Kohawk on campus and in the community.
  • Maintain an inventory of promotional items and make recommendations for purchases and uses at outreach events. 
  • Assist with Office of Admission and other campus program needs.
  • Provide support in the Kohawk Print Center & Mailroom as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, business, marketing, public relations or a related field. 
  • At least 1-3 years of relevant project management experience in a marketing or creative environment. Higher education, admission, and/or Coe College experience preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple projects on various timelines and effectively assessing/reprioritizing workload regularly, problem-solving and anticipating scheduling conflicts/future needs.
  • Successful completion of a background check in accordance with Coe College policy.
  • Experience with photography, social advertising, SEO and/or GoogleAdWords is desired but not required.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time (multiple hours).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on an occasional basis, up to 25 lbs frequently.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • The duties of this position require evening and weekend work.
