POSITION OVERVIEW: To plan, organize and direct a community relations program with the objective of establishing communication and creating a favorable image to the community, general public and staff.  Makes decisions pertaining to community relations of the Health Center.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Experience in marketing, public relations, fundraising, or community development.
  • Successful experience in creating and implementing marketing campaigns. Highly organized and analytical, with proven project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Excellent computer skills and aptitude, including utilizing social media and websites.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, taking routine direction; prioritizes and manages requests to a successful conclusion.

 

POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Develop, cultivate, maintain, and support positive relationships with customers, press, staff, businesses, foundation, auxiliary, and medical communities to optimize communication efforts.
  • Responsible for development, implementation, and evaluation of all advertising and promotional materials through social media, radio, print advertising, internet, intranet, publications, newsletters and brochures.
  • Represent Jefferson County Health Center at functions that will promote goodwill and visibility of the JCHC.
  • Collaborates with Leadership Team to develop and implement marketing and public relations plans, establish marketing priorities, objectives to promote various departments and services and provides strategic community image leadership as measured by patient satisfaction scores.
  • Works with Leadership Team to evaluate sponsorship requests from the community.
  • Develop and manage content on the organization’s website and social media sites by creating content, blogs, videos, and other posts that promote programs and services. Ensures that the information is accurate and timely.
  • Fields inquiries from members of the media, social media comments/questions and web-generated e-mail; responding when appropriate and directing them to the appropriate person and providing them with the necessary contact information as needed. 
  • Keeps abreast of consumer and healthcare-market trends to maintain and grow Jefferson County Health Center’s market share. 
  • Initiates own education, growth and development through training and development activities such as internal or external courses, seminars, on-the-job training, etc.
  • Participates in professional activities inside or outside the organization, such as task forces, committees, participation in conferences, other professional recognition, or community service activities.
  • Plans, organizes and supervises large and small events such as foundation golf tournament, health fair, meet and greets for new providers, hospital week activities, employee engagement initiatives, anniversary celebrations, staff recognitions activities, and other events are determined by foundation or CEO/Administration.
  • Assists JCHC Foundation and Auxiliary with marketing.
  • Performs other related duties as requested or required.
