The Customer Marketing Director will strategically develop marketing strategies using both analytical and qualitative insights by partnering with key stakeholders throughout the organization including: product marketing managers, channel marketers, business analytics, advanced analytics and customer experience. True success will come from developing and executing a highly personalized customer marketing strategy that will in turn drive incremental revenue from the existing customer base while improving the customer experience.

  • Develop and utilize analytical insights to identify new marketing opportunities through the use of customer analysis, segmentation, financial analysis and campaign and test results in partnership with business analytics and advanced analytics.
  • Dive deep into data, via a hands on approach, to tease out nuances that refine and optimize marketing strategies.
  • Leverage those insights in defining omnichannel marketing conversations that personalize messaging, improve the customer experience, align to the customer contact strategy and drive value for customers and the business.
  • Develop and define the customer journey and messaging strategy to drive value for GoDaddy’s customers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing marketing strategies/campaigns and develop and refine the experience to address these opportunities.
  • Provide the execution teams with the input needed to launch customer conversations and marketing strategies across multiple channels (email, outbound sales, paid advertising, SMS, website experience, etc.).
  • Identify any gaps in marketing capabilities including data capture gaps and platforms needed to execute the optimal marketing strategy.
  • Partner with the product marketing, channel marketing and creative teams to design messaging strategies and build new marketing content which align with opportunities.
  • Partner with the customer experience team to test newly developed experiences across omnichannel campaigns and flows.
  • Define reporting and data analytics needs required to provide rapid insights and visibility into what drives business results and how marketing strategies performed and communicate those to cross functional and leadership teams.
  • Work with internal and external resources to develop segmentation, lookalike and predictive models; build business case analyses to support programs; and establish ways to improve the capture of customer intent.
  • Understand GoDaddy’s business goals and identify areas to optimize the company’s revenue and margin.

  • Analytical – must be obsessed with data and able to find meaning with appropriate changes or execution pivots from data intelligence.
  • Sense of urgency and bias toward action – we work hard, we work fast but we also know when to slow down to move fast.  As a senior leader, you need to constantly push for scaled growth but also know when to slow down and make adjustments that drive acceleration in the future.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across a matrixed organization and drive results at scale is a must.
  • 10+ years in marketing and analytics with a proven track record of results.
  • Hands on leader that loves and is able to balance strategy, operational excellence and technological advancement.   
  • Depth and breadth of understanding in the areas of customer marketing, customer retention and personalized messaging.
  • Strong understanding of analytics, statistics and forecasting with hands on experience in web and customer analytics including analysis to optimize marketing campaigns, channels and/or customer journeys.
  • Experience driving end-to-end marketing campaigns through multiple channels.
  • Experience pulling data via SQL, HQL (Hive) or other coding languages for use in analytics with the proven ability to code from scratch.
  • Strong project and people management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with scaled growth and consistent throughput of quality work.
  • Degree in a quantitative field such Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance with an MBA preferred
