Position Summary
The PaidSearch Marketing Specialist is responsible for executing paid search strategies across Blucora’s business units to support customer acquisition and retention initiatives. The ideal candidate will leverage an analytical mindset throughout day-to-day campaign management responsibilities including planning, campaign setup, ad copy testing, device and audience targeting and analyzing campaigns.

  • Work in close partnership with SEM manager to execute strategies that align with business objectives. 
  • Assists with day-to-day SEM activities across multiple search engines.
  • Utilize automated tools and manual oversight to manage daily bid optimization.
  • Drive account structure to support strategies and workflow efficiencies. 
  • Manage keyword expansion and negative keyword strategies through research and search term analysis.
  • Develop, initiate and optimize ad copy testing. 
  • Perform reporting and analysis to guide keyword, device, audience, etc. optimization. 
  • Monitor and report daily spend against budget. 
  • Display thought leadership by seeking out best practices, market changes and new technologies.
  • Effectively collaborates and communicates to builds strong relationships with internal and external teams.
  • Conduct competitor research and share with larger team. 
  • Leverage campaign management tools and analytics programs to monitor campaign performance, develop reporting and make campaign recommendations. 
  • Other job duties as defined.

Education and Experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, marketing or related field. 
  • 2+ years of Search Engine Marketing experience, other digital marketing and SEO experience a plus.
  • Google AdWords or Bing Ads Certified; or obtain certification within 30 days of hire. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • A/B or multi-variate testing experience.
  • Strategic problem solving & analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to work independently on projects as needed.
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to handle pressure, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously and accurately.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced changing environment across multiple teams.
