Marketing Director

Job Information:

TrueNorth, an Insurance and Financial Strategies firm headquartered in downtown Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is currently seeking a Marketing Director to support our Marketing Division. The Marketing Director will manage the performance & optimization of the marketing department's effectiveness in order to guide the businesses growth efforts. This individual will also, focus on the continuous improvement and ongoing success of all marketing programs, as well as, spearhead consistent updating of marketing operations programs and the marketing department personal.  


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


Operations & Project Management:

•Define and manage the brand marketing calendar and ensure that it is aligned with sales efforts, and overall goals and objectives

•Drives continuous efficiency and improvement within the marketing department and expands personnel capabilities

•In conjunction with the VP of Marketing and Brand Strategy, develop and maintain detailed plans for key campaign and programs, reporting dashboards, workflow tools, documentation, and tracking

•Implement a workflow management and intake system that can help manage projects and provide reporting and analytics to internal clients

•Measure and report performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight, and assess again goals


Strategy & Business Development:

•Provide leadership and support to programs, campaigns, and digital marketing

•Develop and structure the team to support business development and manage our corporate brand internally and externally

•Working closely with the company's sales/business development team; enabling them to meet their objectives by providing them with appropriate tools, materials and presentations

•Assist team with managing agency providers, consultants, freelancers, and other suppliers, including contract negotiation and management

•Oversee and evaluate market research and adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions

•Monitor competitor products, sales, and marketing activities


Communications & Technology:

•Collaborate with the IT department for the purpose of optimizing corporate CRM tool, marketing technologies, and other internal communication tools

•Manage and improve generation campaigns; measure results

•Assist in the creation and updating of the digital marketing strategy

•Review new technologies and keep the company at the forefront of developments in digital marketing

•Use appropriate analytics to measure, evaluate, and report against goals and performance of digital marketing activity and plans

•Assist in the leadership of the development of the company website, devising strategies to drive online traffic and continue to improve usability, design, content, and conversation


Budgeting:

•Develop and manage the annual marketing budget

•Responsible for monitoring and re-forecasting related expenses within the marketing programs


Team Involvement & Oversight:

•A member of the growth team, which is responsible for oversight of Marketing and Business Development initiatives throughout the firm

•Operational oversight of the Marketing team - responsible for managing timelines and effectiveness of the team, facilitate performance reviews, assistance in hiring or Marketing department positions

•Managing effective development plans for all team members to encourage team members to grow professionally and personally


Education and Experience:

•Bachelor's degree with a major in Marketing or Business Administration

•A minimum of five years in Marketing in a service industry and/or marketing or brand management within the insurance industry

•Strategic while also being able to develop formal plans and work processes

•High competence in project and stakeholder management


Skills & Competencies:

•Strong organizational and follow up skills

•Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills

•Effective time management skills and the ability to multi-task
