Electric Specialty Manufacturing (ESM) is a locally owned company that has been providing quality high precision parts for over 100 years to several industries which include Aerospace, Electronics, Agricultural, Scientific, Medical, and Industrial.

Due to recent retirements and continued growth, ESM is looking for qualified individuals for the positions of General Machine Shop Labor for first shift, CNC Lathe Machinist & CNC Mill Machinists for precision CNC turning for first and second shift at our modern climate-controlled facility in Marion, Iowa.

General Employee Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• The ability to lift more than 65 pounds unrestricted.
• Works as part of a team and assists with training of others as directed.
• Communicates and works with a positive, professional approach.
• Follows through and meets commitments.
• Follows safety procedures, protocols, policies.
• While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand up, walk, bend, stretch, lift and reach most of the day during an 8-hour shift.
• Work efficiently. Maintain, clean, and organize work area.

 

Additional Position Descriptions & Responsibilities:

• Mechanical Aptitude.
• Maintains all metal cutting, deburring equipment and stock materials.
• Picks and issues parts and components for jobs.
• Receives, inspects and sorts all incoming parts, tooling and materials.
• Material & Finished Product shipping / receiving, handling and prep.
• Loads & unloads shipments.
• Raw Material handling (bars of steel, stainless steel, plastics etc.)
• Ensures stock quantity levels of raw materials and finished goods are accurate.
• Ensures all materials are properly labeled and stocked in the correct location.
• Visual inspection, cleaning, and packaging of finished parts.
• Wash & Tumble parts.
• Able to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and a walk behind floor scrubber.
• Empty trash and material chip bins.
• Operates a variety of hand tools to build shipping crates & pallets (light carpentry skills).
• Able to set-up and operate saw machine, load raw material, and check blanks & parts dimensionally and cosmetically – candidate can be trained.
• Familiarity with interpreting blueprints
• Familiar with measuring instruments such as a Micrometer, Calipers, and Tape Measure.
• Other duties as assigned.

CNC Lathe / Mill Machinist

• Set-up and operate multiple machines to produce parts with the use of fixtures and jigs.
• Familiarity with 2D CNC Programs, CNC Programming is desired, but not necessary.
• Proficient with measuring instruments such as a Micrometers, Calipers, Depth Gauges and Go / No-Go Thread Gauges
• Able to interpret blueprints and familiarity with GD&T.
• Experience with robotics and automation a plus.

 

Job Details:

• Hours may fluctuate with workload.
• First Shift General Machine Shop Labor Full time hours are generally 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• First Shift Machinist Full-Time hours are generally 6:00 - 2:30 PM
• Second Shift Machinist Full-Time hours are generally 2:30 - 11:00 PM
• Overtime may be required as needed.
