A.    Essential Job Functions:

  1. Works a twelve hour shift with alternating 3 or 4 day work weeks, with a thirty minute lunch break and two fifteen minute rest breaks.
  2. If requested, may work overtime to meet customer needs and/or requirements.
  3. Production schedules, work schedules, and the interaction required with other associates and management require your actual presence at the workplace and your availability must be predictable at scheduled times.
  4. Equipment operated: Stahl folders (various) and MBO folders

Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform manual and machine operator tasks related to folder operations including set up and adjustment of feeder, folding plates, and delivery; set-up folder for special processes (perforations, scoring, slitting/trimming and gluing).
  2. Instruct others in technical and mechanical operation of equipment.
  3. Make decisions on methods to assemble jobs, load and maintain supply of sheets/signatures, file samples of production material and complete production records (time sheets, job jackets, etc.)
  4. Perform routine preventative maintenance and housekeeping of working area.
  5. Position requires personal contact with other employees and company management in a positive, interpersonal manner that does not cause undue interruptions, hospitality, errors, undue stress or other disruptive behavior.
  6. Responsibilities of this position require full attention while on the job to ensure the safety of others and equipment and to ensure the quality of work. Inattention to perform your job is prohibited.

B.    Essential Physical and Frequency Requirements:

  1. Requires performing tasks of standing, walking and bending.
  2. Work positions include squatting, with extended reach above head and in front of body, above 18 inches and in front 30 inches.
  3. Lifts materials and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds and carries while walking up to 10 times per hour for distances up to 10 feet.
  4. Requires handling materials weighing 40 pounds while pushing, pulling, lifting and twisting.
  5. Works in air-conditioned environment with high noise levels.

C.    Essential Safety Procedures:

  1. Adhere to and follow the safety policies and procedures of the Fisher Group.
  2. Do not smoke except in designated areas.
  3. Be familiar with the location and contents of the First Aid Kit in your department.
  4. Understand and be informed of the information contained in the Safety Data Sheet (SDSs) for chemicals that are located in your department.
  5. Understand OSHA Lockout-Tagout procedure.
  6. Report unsafe conditions or practices to your team leader or anyone on the Safety Committee.

D.    Essential Knowledge and Ability Requirements:

  1. Requires proven communication skills (written and verbal) and organizational skills.  Ability to distinguish colors.  Ability to facilitate communication between production personnel while work in process.  Initiate and maintain good organization of records and information.

E.    Essential Behavior Requirements:

  1. Reporting for work punctually as scheduled and being at the proper work station at the assigned time.
  2. Notifying your team leader in advance when you will be absent from work or unable to report for work on time.
  3. Complying with the Fisher Group safety regulations and policies outlined in the employee handbook.
