Job Description:
The Operations Planner plans and schedules work to manufacture rugged electronics assemblies. The experienced candidate analyzes and evaluates demands, capacity, processes, and methods of production.

Duties:
  • Creates, analyze and maintains shop routings.  Understands and communicates the manufacturing process of each product.
  • Rolls and maintains standard cost.
  • Performs data entry along and provides analysis of work processes and trends.
  • Conducts studies in operations to maximize workflow and material routings.
  • Communicates directly with sales department and operations leadership to provide customer quote dates. 
  • Provide input to engineering department regarding change notifications and other requests.
  • Applies theory related to planning and manufacturing processes and determines best practice for work flow and work efficiencies and be able to look past those theories for the sake of speed and in order to provide special attention to customers (internal and external)  as required.
  • Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the manufacturing and the planning field.
  • Responsibilities include: updating and maintaining ERP system (Expandable), and integrate its capabilities throughout the organization, work-in-process, shop floor.  
  • Also provides labor analysis and capacity planning.
  • Communicates verbally and in writing with most departments.  Recommends work flow and priorities to applicable departments
  • Helps train employees within the department.

Requires

Education:
Associate’s degree preferred or high school (GED) with several years of equivalent experience.

Experience:     
  • One to two years of planning, and/or MRP experience.
  • Ability to develop reports using current computer software is essential
  • Microsoft Office. Experience in CNC shop routings is preferred.

Physical:         
  • Involves use of computer and entering data. Must be able to visually analyze production with-in the shop area. 
  • May be required to do occasional lifting or handle power tools.

Miscellaneous: 
  • Ability to work in a team environment and interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Must be detail oriented.
