We are looking for a full time Electronic/Mechatronic Technician to support our Wildlife Division located in Coralville, IA, USA. Our Wildlife Division is responsible for assembling GPS satellite tracking collars for wild animals. Our customers include State/Federal wildlife agencies (DNR, Nat. Park Service, Universities ect.). We require a high degree of quality workmanship given the product application.

Electronic / Mechatronic Technician Responsibilities and Duties


  • As Assembly and bonding of electro-mechanical assemblies and electronic components

  • Calibration of high-quality electronic devices

  • Testing of electronic GPS, Satellite modems, VHF beacon subassemblies.

  • Regular use of soldering iron, wire cutter/stripper/crimper, screwdriver, hand drill, grinder, cutter, drill press, digital multi-meter, oscilloscope, etc.

  • Performing functional and quality controls of final products. 

  • Analyze faults and causes of faults on electronic devices.

  • Identifies, evaluate and write reports on customer returns. 

  • Handling of small and very small electronic parts of very high quality.

  • May train others on various company standards.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Completed training as, electronics or mechatronics technician.

  • Familiar with GPS receivers and Satellite modems a plus.

  • Practiced handling of measuring and test equipment including oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzer.

  • Excellent hand soldering skills.

  • Mechanical aptitude.

  • Strong PC skills.

  • High level of concentration and accuracy.

  • Very good craftsmanship with attention to detail. 

  • High level of concentration and accuracy.

  • Independent, structured work, teamwork, flexibility and commitment.

  • Reach objectives within given time-frames.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure seasonal environment.

  • Able to work in a team internal customer service environment.

  • Continuously complete assigned tasks and meet production goals.

Requirements
High School or equivalent education.
2+ years’ experience soldering
2+ years’ using MS Office Applications
Preferred technical degree or certification in electronics
Military or aeronautics training/experience
Ability to obtain a passport for overseas travel to Germany for training.
Ability to lift and move up to 30-40 lbs.
Ability to sit for long periods of time.
US citizen required.
