Job Information:

UI Health Care Project Management Office is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager that will lead, oversee and manage the UI Physicians Group (UIP) initiatives and their associated projects through the project life cycle. This position will be the project liaison to plan, direct, coordinate and manage small to large-scale projects. The Senior Project Manager’s responsibility will be to ensure that goals and objectives are met, within the established time frames and budget, and hospital requirements; preparing project status reports and resource management, conducting/facilitating project meetings and ensuring the project progress on schedule, addressing any constraints and resolving problems in a timely manner.  This position will work with a range of stakeholders including staff-level employees, department-level leadership, hospital administration, medical & clinical staff, division leadership and technical users to analyze project requirements & needs, develop implementation strategies and provide guidance and oversight throughout the program/project management life cycle, serving as change agents for the organization, working effectively in a diverse environment.
Position to be filled as either Senior Project Manager (PAE3) or Project Manager (PAE2) based on candidate qualifications.  
Salary and Benefits:
  • Permanent salaried position located on the UI Health Care Campus, 200 Hawkins Drive, Iowa City, IA
  • Salary range is $65,000 to $95,000 for Senior Project Manager role (PAE3); $55,000 to $83,000 for Project Manager role (PAE2).

Education Required:A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business or Management, Public Health, Health Administration or a related health industry discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Experience Required:
  • Project Management experience implementing and managing multiple Programs/Projects. 
    • Senior Project Manager: 3-5 years (minimum) of Project Management experience implementing multiple medium to large size projects.
    • Project Manager: 1-3 years (minimum) of Project Management experience implementing multiple small to large scale projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with a strong focus on customer service utilizing established PMO Program/Project Management methodology, processes, procedures, tools and techniques. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with all levels of management and project team members.
  • Demonstrated strong project management, organizational and facilitation skills.
  • Experience leading teams and people to successfully implement change utilizing a positive, can-do attitude to inspire others.
  • Proficient in Project Management tools such as MS Project, MS Word, MS Excel, MS SharePoint, MS Visio and MS PowerPoint. 
  • Experience with the concept of the PMBOK (Project Management Book of Knowledge) and applying project management principles, methodology & processes to managing projects.
  • Ability to simultaneously lead multiple small to large-scale projects.
Desirable Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with educational and certification credentials combined with Project Management experience in a health industry.
  • Senior Project Manager
    • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP), Master Certificate in Project Management, Public Heath Certification or Informatics Certificate, Prince2, AIPM Certified Practicing Project Manager (CPPM), ITILv3, Lean, Agile and/or Six Sigma certification. 
    • A Master's degree in Business Administration, Business or Management, Public Health, Health Administration or a related Health Industry discipline.
  • Project Manager
    • PMI Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), AIPM Certified Practicing Project Practitioner (CPPP) or related Project Management entry-level certification. 
    • Lean Six Sigma experience
