Job Information:

EDC, Inc. is seeking a Director of Operations for one of its Corridor-area clients. As a key member of the Management team, the Director of Operations will have execution responsibility for the Company’s Internal Systems Operations, Materials Management (Customer Fulfillment) and Service Operations.  The Operations Manager must be able to adapt to the company’s entrepreneurial culture and bring a mature leadership presence in the process.

Ideal candidate must be successful in improving efficiency, capability and capacity through use of proven quality theories and tools.

JOB DESCRIPTION: List principal responsibilities, duties and tasks of job:

  • Enterprise system (ERP) – MRP, OE, production control, shipping, etc. Identification, implementation and related process management.

  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory management to required accuracy, turns, scrap, and obsolete metrics along with Supply Chain Manager

  • Develop and execute strategies to introduce new products into operations to meet supply and quality expectations of the organization and customers

  • Management of shipping methods and expenses in line with inventory / capital employed to maximize profitability

  • Management of on-time delivery in line with customer requirements and company goals along with Supply Chain Manger

  • Management of product quality / warranty programs and performance goals

  • Development of, and management to, an approved departmental operations and capital budget

  • Consistent and complete reporting of department performance in line with company reporting requirements

  • Create and maintain strong alliances with our international service centers

  • Improves customer service quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; establishing and communicating service metrics; monitoring and analyzing results; implementing changes

  • Maintain high standards and metrics for turn and quality of repair and service

  • Handle any Return to Vendor (RTV) programs, retrofit and rework programs as required

  • Execution of partner and end user customer support programs and services.  Review all customer service agreements for sign off

  • Facilitate and coordinate customized reporting for designated customers and partners

  • Develop and maintain value added service programs offered to customers and partners

  • Assists Technical Support staff on resolution of customer complaints and issues of product quality

  • Involved in the development of budgets, requirements and scheduling for the technology projects of the company

  • Management of Service and Production Staff

  • Develops schedules and assigns work to meet critical customer deadline

Position Specifications: Skills, experience and education required to perform this position (Equivalent job experience might be substituted for educational degree):

  • Five or more years of proven production operations leadership experience in the computing or directly related industry

  • Comprehensive experience in creative strategic planning to improve operations, energize sales, drive new business development

  • Proven ability to build and energize staff and management teams to peak performance

  • Proven inventory management and turns performance

  • Proven track record of improved results in the areas of quality, safety, service and cost

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Proven delivery, product quality, and warranty performance metrics

  • Is responsible for meeting all regulatory requirement and rules

  • Proven leadership qualities. Ability to select, coach, develop, engage, and retain a team of employees

  • Excellent supervision, analytical and organization skills

  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects on tight deadlines and prioritize appropriately

  • Ability to work collaboratively to achieve objectives

  • Ability to make recommendations after analysis/research and present those ideas in a team setting

  • High energy and enthusiasm for process improvement
