Job Description Summary

  • Provide dedicated support to the Legal, Compliance and Ethics (LCE) department through a broad range of legal operational tasks related to LCE software applications, processes, business activities, technology and people. With an eye toward software utilization, process improvement, identify, implement, and maintain innovative processes and systems to improve the efficiency and quality of LCE’s services and maximize the team’s ability to grow and protect the Company


  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to the 12 core competencies of Legal Operations: Strategic Planning, Financial Management, Vendor Management, Cross Functional Alignment, Technology & Process Support, Service Delivery & Alternative Support Models, Organizational Design & Support Management, Communications, Data Analytics, Litigation Support & IP Management, Knowledge Management, Information Governance and Records Management.
  • Work independently; expected to determine how to accomplish their own work assignments while exercising independent judgment and initiative.
  • Examples of work:  serve as business system administrator role in multiple LCE software applications, create and provide analysis with reporting, follow pre-existing procedures as well as recommend and implement improvements; utilize systems to conduct research.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a business field or equivalent education/experience
  • Three years of experience in a law firm, in-house legal department, or comparable experience
  • Understanding of legal terminology
  • Strong technical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Communication skills for daily contact with department staff and internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure of deadlines
  • Knowledge of core legal systems such as matter management, e-Billing, document management and knowledge management
  • Proficiency using MS Office tools; SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Word

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency using MS Access (including query creation and report design modification) and Office 365 apps
  • Experience onboarding a new software vendor
  • Project management experience
  • Process improvement experience
