Senior Paralegal

Job Information:

TrueNorth, an Insurance and Financial Strategies firm headquartered in downtown Cedar Rapids, has an immediate opening for Senior Paralegal. The primary function of the Senior Paralegal is to coordinate workflows for the legal department and to generate legal documents to be reviewed by attorneys.



Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•Organize, track and manage legal requests/projects and workflows

•Perform transactional work, such as reviewing, drafting, organizing and summarizing contracts and other legal documents, as required by attorneys

•Maintain corporate documents for TrueNorth Companies, L.C. and related legal entities

•Provide legal support for and assist with litigation matters

•Provide legal support for Human Resources and Benefits programs, files and agreements

•Assist with corporate compliance initiatives

•Ensure financial and capital transactions are executed properly

•Assist with M&A activity: LOI's, due diligence, tracking of document revisions between parties, prepare closing binders

•Assist with real estate related activities: management of reporting to agencies related to financial covenants and governmental programs, closing binder maintenance, collaboration with facilities and finance for building related needs

•Attend meetings and capture action items

•Perform other duties as assigned, appropriate to the position


Education & Experience:

•Associate Degree required, a Bachelor's degree is preferred

•Paralegal certification or substantial equivalent experience is required

•Prior corporate legal department experience preferred

•Insurance license or work experience in the insurance industry is ideal

•Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, proven ability to quickly learn computer applications as required to complete the functions of the job

•Experience with a legal document management system is preferred
