911 Communications Operator

Job Information:

The Jones County Sheriff's Department is looking for a 911 Communications Officer.

This position requires excellent customer service, communication and computer skills. This would include proficiency with multiple computer tasks and programs. The applicant must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, able to multi-task, and quick to respond. Desired applicant must work well with others, have excellent oral and written communication skills, be able to work with numbers, and have the ability to appropriately handle confidential records and information. No previous dispatching skills required, but are helpful.

We are a 24/7 operation so this position would require a person who is flexible to work days, nights, weekends and holidays. The starting pay is $15.94 per hour up to $17.94 per hour depending on experience.
