Lead Application Developer- Lawson Infor ERP System

Job Information:

UI Health Care Information Systems is seeking an experienced Lead Application Developer to provide leadership for the project team enhancing and supporting Community Connect Lawson Infor Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software modules for General Ledger, HR/Payroll, and Supply Chain. The position will be filled as Lead Application Developer (PIA4) or Senior Application Developer (PIA3) based on candidate qualifications.
Core job duties include:
  • Provide technical leadership, direction, and technical support for the development, configuration and ongoing maintenance of Lawson ERP software.
  • Collaborate with application owners and stakeholders to identify critical functional requirements for new or revised applications.
  • Develop technical design and procedures for new or revised applications.
  • Lead the review and analysis of system problems to identify solutions and/or make appropriate referrals.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans associated with system development, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Develop standards for documentation to ensure recovery capability, as well as satisfactory and stable performance of the platform(s) and all applications and processes.
  • Provide administrative and/or functional supervision over assigned staff that configure applications, write program code or scripts.
  • Wear a pager and provide some 24x7 on-call support.
  • Travel to customer sites for sustained periods of time to support application implementation, upgrade, and or optimization.
Salary and Benefits:
  • Work to be performed onsite at the UI Health Care Support Services Building, 3281 Ridgeway Drive, Coralville, IA 52241.
  • Salary range is $75,000 to $117,952 for Lead Application Developer; $65,000 to $95,412 for Senior role
  • Permanent salaried position with a generous fringe benefit package including 24 days paid vacation; sick leave; health, dental, life and disability insurance options; and employer contributions into retirement plans.
  • Probationary period, if applicable, to be communicated at time of offer.
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and related application development/support experience.
Experience Required:
  • Experience in the development and/or support of applications used by non-technical customers to support and enhance business processes

    • typically 7-10 years for Lead Developer in leadership roles including

      • experience with programming tools and a comprehensive understanding of database technologies (e.g., Caché, SQL Server)
      • experience in the management of team members (functional or administrative)
    • typically 5-7 years for Senior Developer in leadership roles including experience with programming tools and a comprehensive understanding of database technologies
Other Requirements:
  • Experience acting as the primary contact for the support, configuration and development of a healthcare-specific ERP solution.
  • Experience working with end-users to define system requirements and understand business needs
  • Experience working with vendors to analyze system and integration requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with basic project management
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical staff; and
  • Demonstrated job-related experience and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting and maintaining an ERP solution in a rural ambulatory or hospital setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with financial management, support chain and HR/payroll business processes.
  • Experience implementing and/or maintaining of Lawson Infor software is highly desirable.
  • Experience collaborating with technical and non-technical staff on system implementation projects
  • Proven ability to write application test scripts
