CSS Consulting is a Cedar Rapids Iowa based Information Technology consulting firm serving customers in all of Eastern Iowa.  We provide customers with all aspects of Information Technology needs including fiber optic infrastructure design, network design/installation/maintenance, virtual and hardware server design/installation/maintenance, virtual and hardware desktop design/installation/maintenance, firewalls, VPNs, VOIP telephone systems and custom software development.
Our customer base is growing and we are looking for IT Support Specialists to add to our team.
The position responsibilities include the design, installation and maintenance of:
  • Server solutions; both physical and virtual
  • User endpoints (workstations, terminal etc.)
  • Email and SQL servers
  • Backup solutions
  • Operating system and software package upgrades
  • Microsoft Office applications
  • WAN and LAN IP networks
  • VOIP Telephone Systems
This position provides on-site and remote technical support for customers for their network, servers, workstations and installed applications.
Excellent communications skills, written and oral are a must.  The successful candidates will be required to communicate directly with customers providing direction on their IT needs.
Skills that would be beneficial:
  • Knowledge of routing and switching.
  • Wireless networking both point to point and WiFi
  • Serial communications
  • Data backup systems design and installation
  • Router and switch configuration (knowledge of OSPF, VRRP etc)
  • Knowledge of VMware solutions
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Active Directory configuration and domain policies
  • DNS and DHCP server configuration
  • Firewall and VPN configuration
  • Server/PC OS installation
  • The use of MS Office applications, Word/Excel/Visio, etc.
  • Experience with VOIP Telephone Systems
Industry standard certifications would also be beneficial.
Candidates must:
  • Be able to lift PC workstations and networking equipment.
  • Be confident with their skills and coordinate with third parties in the interest of the client
  • Be skilled in problem solving and troubleshooting
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.  We reimburse mileage.
  • Be able to pass background check (we work with law enforcement agencies)
