ABOUT THE JOB

This position is located at Kirkwood Community College and will be in support of College operations.  Solutions Management Group in conjunction with Kirkwood Community College seeks an AV-Media Support Technician located at Kirkwood's main campus. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a technology team that supports a leading educational institution that focuses on instructional innovation, program effectiveness and operational excellence.

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY 

The AV-Media Support Technician will participate in the oversight, delivery and support of educational, media, broadcast and AV related technology delivery systems and services. Through a team based environment within the CSS support team, this position will maintain and support standards based AV-Media systems utilizing thorough and clear documentation and industry best practices. In collaboration with the CSS team structure, this position will participate in project based teams from conception through execution and will train others in the use and support of these systems. This position may require occasional scheduled on-call and after-hours support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES 

Participate in the evaluation of technology systems based and adhere to the establishment of quality standards and professional workmanship.

Provide installation, technical support and operational training for all supported systems.

Stay current with new and emerging instructional, media and display technologies and techniques.

Install, support and repair college computers, peripherals, software and technology equipment.

Support Web Live/ Distance Learning classrooms along with live streaming, lecture capture and broadcast radio station.

Assist teams in the planning, documenting, execution and testing of technology solutions that meet planned schedules and deliverables.

Document implemented technology systems using Visio, AutoCAD, or other similar products.

Carry out project plans utilizing agile card walls, Trello or similar methods of project tracking.

  • Perform other related work duties as assigned.

Interact well with a wide variety of customers including administrators, faculty, staff and students.

Must be able to work effectively in an environment where work interruptions are frequent.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  •  Associates degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Instructional Technology or other related field and 1-3 years of experience. May also have equivalent combination of education
  • (Including technical degree) and related experience to meet the minimum requirement. 
  • Solid understanding and demonstration of office computer skills.


LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED

  • Must possess a valid Iowa Driver’s License

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS

  • Certifications – InfoComm CTS; A+
