Senior / Application Developers - Lawson Infor ERP System

Job Information:

UI Health Care Information Systems is seeking experienced Senior/Application Developers to provide technical leadership and support for the development, configuration and ongoing maintenance of Community Connect Lawson Infor Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software modules for HR/Payroll.  Position will be filled as Senior Application Developer (PIA3) or Application Developer (PIA2) based on candidate qualifications.  Core job duties include:
  • Collaborate with application owners and stakeholders to identify critical functional requirements for new or revised applications.
  • Recommend technical design and procedures for new or revised applications.
  • Configure and customize applications; may write program code or scripts.
  • Review and analyze system problems to identify solutions and/or make appropriate referrals.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans associated with system development, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Develop and maintain documentation to ensure recovery capability, as well as satisfactory and stable performance of the platform(s) and all applications and processes.
  • May provide direction, assignments, feedback, coaching, and counseling to junior staff to assure outcomes are achieved (Senior level)
  • Provide some 24x7 on-call support.
  • Travel to customer sites for sustained periods of time to support application implementation, upgrade, and/or optimization.  
Salary and Benefits:
  • Work to be performed onsite at the UI Health Care Support Services Building, 3281 Ridgeway Drive, Coralville, IA 52241.  
  • Salary range is $65,000 to $95,412 for Senior Application Developer (PIA3); $50,452 to $75,857 for Application Developer role (PIA2)
  • Permanent salaried positions with a generous fringe benefit package including 24 days paid vacation; sick leave; health, dental, life and disability insurance options; and employer contributions into retirement plans. 
  • Probationary period, if applicable, to be communicated at time of offer.  
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and related application development/support experience.
Experience Required:
  • Experience in the development and/or support of applications used by non-technical customers to support and enhance healthcare workflows processes

    • typically 5-7 years for Senior Developer in leadership roles including experience with programming tools and a comprehensive understanding of database technologies  
    • typically 3-5 years of some current relevant experience for Application Developer
Other Requirements:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with HR/payroll business processes. 
  • Experience contributing to the support, configuration and development of an ERP solution. 
  • Experience working with end-users, application owners and/or vendors to analyze system and integration requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with basic project management
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical staff 
  • Demonstrated job-related experience and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment  
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting and maintaining an ERP solution in a rural ambulatory or hospital setting
  • Experience implementing and/or maintaining of Lawson Infor software is strongly preferred. 
  • Experience collaborating with technical and non-technical staff on system implementation projects
  • Proven ability to write application test scripts
