Epic Business Intelligence Application Developer

Job Information:

UI Health Care Information Systems is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to support a variety of key initiatives involving reporting for Critical and Rural Health Hospitals. Duties will encompass Epic Clarity Data Models and the operational Reporting Workbench tool. Expectations include strong SQL skills, ability to evaluate user requests and align with the appropriate format/tool, and accurate validation of delivered reports.
Salary and Benefits:
  • Work to be performed onsite at the UI Health Care Support Services Building, 3281 Ridgeway Drive, Coralville, IA 52241.
  • Salary range is $50,452 to $75,857
  • Permanent salaried position with a generous fringe benefit package including 24 days paid vacation; sick leave; health, dental, life and disability insurance options; and employer contributions into retirement plans.
  • Probationary period to be communicated at time of offer.
    Education Required
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or MIS or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience Required
  • Typically 3-5 years of business intelligence development experience
  • Experience working with data in a healthcare or health industry environment.
  • Experience using SQL to write complex queries.
  • Proven track record of researching, analyzing, and synthesizing data to support decision-making.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently, as well as cooperatively with others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as proven strong customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated job-related experience with and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment.
     
    Desirable Qualifications
  • Preference given to candidates with experience in Epic application development, multiple Clarity Data Models, or Epic Reporting Workbench tool.
  • Experience with SQL Server Management Studio 2014, including SSIS.
  • Experience with Business Objects XI3.1 or XI4.1 reporting tools (Universe Designer/Information Design Tool, WEBI, Crystal Reports).
  • Experience with MS tools (e.g., Excel, Project, Visio, Access).
