IT Systems Analyst

TrueNorth, an Insurance and Financial Strategies firm, has an immediate opening for an IT Systems Analyst in our headquarters in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The IT Systems Analyst is responsible for the proactive analysis of enterprise infrastructure and security systems to ensure the most efficient, reliable and effective solutions are in place to meet business needs. This is accomplished through development of requirements, research and recommendation of best fit solutions, and proper implementation and administration of internal Technology platforms with a focus on client experience and data security.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Analyze current infrastructure systems and make recommendations for improvements and efficiencies specifically in the areas of security and client experience
  • Research new and emerging enterprise technologies for right fit adoption and organization implementation
  • Provide analysis and monitoring of infrastructure systems to identify performance or user experience effecting issues and provide recommendations for improvements or corrections
  • Work with system and network administrators to ensure process and procedures are in place for proactive identification of user issues and inefficiencies
  • Provide analysis of M&A opportunity systems configuration and make recommendations for integration and onboarding
  • Analyze security platforms to ensure adherence to industry best practices
  • Respond to and triage security alerts to ensure quick response and escalation
  • Provide escalation and root cause analysis on helpdesk issues including recommendations for improvements and system corrections
  • Analysis of support ticket trends for proactive identification of underlying issues and concerns
  • Research and recommend user hardware platforms which meet business needs while improving efficiency
  • Provide project management and communication for infrastructure projects and improvement initiatives
  • Work with organization and division leadership to understand unique challenges and provide client focused solutions utilizing enterprise standard solutions
  • Identify opportunities to increase productivity, efficiency, quality or customer satisfaction and/or opportunities to reduce expense and eliminate waste
  • Collaborate with vendors and/or developers on business requirements and implementation of new features
  • Lean enhancements to infrastructure; keep current on new features and functionality to create recommendations for process improvements; best practices and utilization of the systems
  • Develop detailed User acceptance test cases and flows; including devising test plans, creating test cases, establishing protocols and appropriate testing environments and coordinating testing
  • Understands and implements best practice processes to ensure compliance and data quality
  • Ensure Change Management processes are followed as well as make improvements to the process to ensure governance
  • Support, coordinate and/or facilitate the training and documentation for infrastructure systems
  • Create and maintain documentation on processes, policies, application configuration and help related materials for end users
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and/or participating in professional societies
  • Perform other duties as assigned, appropriate to the position

Education & Experience:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field; or equivalent work experience is required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required
  • MS Project, Visio and SharePoint experience is preferred
  • Experience with Active Directory, Windows Server and Azure is desirable
  • CISSP or similar certification is desired

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills - must be able to manage projects and time independently
