Help Desk Technician

JOB SUMMARY
The Help Desk Technician is an entry level position within our Information Management team.  The team’s primary role is to ensure the secure and stable operation of our company’s network.  The Help Desk Technician main responsibility is to ensure continuity of company computer system services for users by providing the technical expertise and assistance necessary to install computer software products, modify/repair hardware and resolve technical problems.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assess and Resolve computer/network issues both on-site and remotely
  • Staff the Help Desk line and respond to all requests in a timely manner.
  • Ensure network connectivity of all network devices.
  • Administer all equipment, hardware and software upgrades.
  • Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Assist Sr System Administrator with projects and task as assigned
  • Update Help Desk system to reflect work in progress or completed
  • Support Mobile workforce with various wireless devices
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform other related duties as required and directed.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
  • Working technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Windows Server 2012/2016 and Windows 10.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory
  • Application support experience with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Office365.
  • Associates Degree in MIS, Computer Support, System Administration preferred.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed.
  • Ability to resolve basic to advanced hardware, software and connectivity problems
  • Strong PC troubleshooting skill
  • Requires strong verbal and written communication skills

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Normal business hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday.  Work assignments may require evening, early morning, or weekend work and possibly travel.
  • Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift objects of up to 30 lbs.
