TrueNorth, an Insurance and Financial Strategies firm, has an immediate opening for an Administrative Assistant in our headquarters, located in downtown Cedar Rapids. The primary responsibility of the Administrative Assistant is to support the day-to-day operations, client satisfaction and performance of the leaders, team members and assigned producers.   The Administrative Assistant is responsible for managing activities, schedules, travel, meeting preparation or presentations and other administrative support duties for assigned teams.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Calendar management with independent decision-making to accommodate conflicting meeting requests and management of calendar invites
  • Travel management (including necessary visas, permits, where required)
  • Manage expense reports, documentation, and processing 
  • Handle correspondence and respond independently where possible 
  • Coordination and preparation of various presentations and reports as required 
  • Meetings and events coordination, to include all details from invites, location selection, equipment, food & beverage, travel coordination for out of town guests, etc. 
  • Increase industry and job knowledge as measured by attendance at continuing education, attaining or updating designations, and participation in other agency training offerings 
  • Other duties as assigned, appropriate to the position  
Education & Experience:  
  • High School diploma required 
  • Some college is preferred 
  • Must also have experience in Microsoft Office; specifically, basic Word and intermediate Excel skills  
Skills & Competencies:  
  • Must be able to interact effectively with all levels of the organization 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information appropriately 
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, energetic environment 
  • Strong and professional verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills - must be able to manage projects and time independently 
  • Ability to manage and coordinate heavy and uneven workload 
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to professionalism and confidentiality
