This position is responsible for developing and maintaining employee benefits accounts in conjunction with the producing risk advisor. Senior account managers work independently to obtain quotes, prepare and monitor renewals, and service accounts. This position will also serve as the office’s satellite manager.

Account Manager
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients through advising and responding to all correspondence in a quick and accurate manner. 
    • Includes answering questions regarding all lines of coverage, and assisting with plan and/or carrier changes, claims,and billing
  • Exercise independent judgement and discretion to:
    • determine client goals,
    • analyze markets for competitive pricing and develop insurance solutions for current clients,
    • analyze quotes from carriers for accuracy,
    • evaluate, prepare and present renewal comparisons and policy proposals,
    • communicate and educate clients on policies as needed, 
    • evaluate and process client requests to ensure appropriate coverage is met, and
    • resolve inquiries on service problems, billing and claims to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with risk advisor as needed to meet client needs.
  • Schedule and participate in client meetings as necessary.
  • Study trends and advancements in the insurance and finance industries, as well as changes to the regulatory climate for businesses and the insurance industry overall to keep knowledge current and plan strategically. 
  • Promote value-added services available through North Risk Partners(i.e., professional consulting, webinars/seminars, communications and Zywave tools).
  • Refer business across all departments (i.e., property and casualty, employee benefits, and personal lines).
  • Attend and actively participate in agency service training meetings.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with partner insurance carriers.
  • Enter activity and other relevant information into the company’s software system(s) in accordance with company procedures.
  • Follow all federal and state regulations, and best practices for avoiding Errors and Omissions.
  • Continue professional development by pursuing and maintaining professional designations
  • Travel as necessary for client meetings to support team.

  • Serve as office manager and Administrative Supervisor for all staff employees:
    • approve time sheets and PTO requests 
    • approve monthly expense reports
    • oversee office budget quarterly
    • coordinate with marketing department for advertising 
    • work with Employee Relations department in on boarding, compliance, paperwork, etc.
    • work with Department Supervisor to execute employee development, including:
      • daily productivity,
      • training, 
      • performance reviews, and 
      • disciplinary action as needed. 

  • Perform miscellaneous projects and complete various tasks as requested by management.

Education, Experience and Certifications:
  • High school degree or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
  • Extensive years of insurance experience in commercial lines or employee benefits is required
  • Maintain health and life license
