Business Development Director

TrueNorth, an Insurance and Financial Strategies firm headquartered in downtown Cedar Rapids,is currently seeking a Business Development Director.  The Business Development Director will be a profit generator who drives revenue, initiates and leverages partnerships while packaging programs creatively and collaboratively.  The position will be a leader who is influential and has expertise in developing, planning, packaging and implementing internal and external facing business development capabilities and programs.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Provide leadership across corporate and with divisional level business development resources, focused around the execution and           management of TrueNorth’s growth initiatives  
•Work collaboratively with third parties to ensure effectiveness and proper utilization of sales tools, methodologies, and systems and determine opportunities to implement within TrueNorth
•Work with EVP’s from each division to assist with sales plans, analyze sales performance data and identify opportunities for improvement  
•Enhance pipeline management insight through understanding of individual, team, divisional, and firm opportunities
•Provide leadership, support, and mentorship to TrueNorth’s producer onboarding and sales systems by partnering with divisional leadership, business development resources, and producers
•Coordinate and manage all of TrueNorth’s sales meetings as well as focused producer development forums
•Spearhead the communication of effective growth strategies and processes.
•Work collaboratively TrueNorth’s Marketing and Technology teams to drive scalable and repeatable solutions for our sales teams
•Utilize CRM and market research to provide data focused around existing opportunities from new prospects and existing clients
•Work collaboratively with all division sales leaders to properly align and package opportunities to prospects and existing clients
•Provide leadership and direction to producers and operational leaders, ensuring the delivery of best in class service is provided to clients and members
•Take ownership and work with EVP’s, VP of Operations and Servco department leaders to define and implement marketing/sales strategies both corporately and by practice
•Implement and evaluate the agency’s lead generation capabilities, awareness, sales campaign activities, touch programs and monitors results
•Collaborate with leadership, colleagues, and producers regarding client needs and present a business case and plan for creating value added products or services
•Monitor client preferences to determine focus on sales efforts corporately
•Utilize the Project Management Center of Excellence structure to build and implement new programs within Business Development
•Obtain insurance licenses and stay aware of evolving industry and changes
•Travel to satellite offices consistently to achieve common vision and development of producer colleagues  
•Provide insight to operational leadership on possible goals and strategies to support corporate growth
•Work collaboratively with the Director of Training and Development to engage producers in meaningful development opportunities
•Assist with the development and introduction of sales techniques and product training
•Represent the company at external meetings (including networking, sales events, trade shows and community events) to positively promote the TrueNorth brand and services
•Responsible for preparing corporate sales meetings and assist EVP’s in planning and preparation for divisional sales events

Education & Experience:
•A Bachelor's degree with a major in Business Administration, Finance, or Risk Management
•Minimum of 7 years proven sales experience in a service industry and/or specific insurance industry experience is required
•Project Management Capable
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office; specifically intermediate Word and Excel skills, and basic PowerPoint skills
