Assumes responsibility for the supervision, safety, security, and behavior management of dependent, neglect or delinquent youth at the Juvenile Detention Center. Work is performed under general supervision.

MAIN ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Oversee daily activity of the residents of the Juvenile Detention Center.
• Organize, plan, and lead skill building & recreational activities with residents.
• Engineer the environment to maintain a calm & safe atmosphere. Have de-escalation and restraint capabilities.
• Document all observations on clients.
• Maintain security and safety of residents on a continual basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences or related field
• Minimum of 6 months in the care, counseling, and management of dependent, neglected, and delinquent adolescents within the last five years

HOURS:

• SHIFT 1: 3 p.m. – 11 p.m. Friday – Tuesday (Wednesday/Thursday off)   
• SHIFT 2: 3 p.m. – 11 p.m. Wednesday – Sunday (Monday/Tuesday off)  

HOURLY WAGE:

• New Hire: $24.48/$25.09 
• 90 days: $26.34
• 1 year: $27.73 
• 2 years: $29.24 
• 3 years: $30.78
• *Wage goes to $25.09 effective 7/1/23.
