Position Description:

Under the supervision of the Youth Center Coordinator, provide pro-social activities for youth related to the arts, volunteerism, employment, healthy living, and support groups. This position will require working in the Youth Center as well as in Elementary School Environments.

Characteristic Duties of a Youth Advocate:

  • Collect data from program activities through daily contact sheets, success stories, and photos.  
  • Support UAY volunteers in Youth Development and Arts programs.  
  • Promote Youth Development and Youth Center activities through social media and print. 
  • Plan and facilitate pro-social youth activities including youth volunteer activities and art workshops. 
  • Provide one-on-one support for youth in crisis and need. Including making referrals and case processing with UAY therapy staff and Youth and Family Advocacy.  
  • Practice “UPR” Unconditional Positive Regard, respect for all. Build positive and nurturing relationships with program participants. 

Related Duties:

  • Attend weekly Youth Service Team meetings.
  • Attend weekly Art Team Meetings
  • Attend weekly one-on-one supervision meetings with Prevention Director and Art Coordinator.
  • Participate in Youth Development trainings.
  • Other duties as assigned

Must have a valid Driver’s License.

Compensation: $15 - $16 per hour, 20 hours per week.
