GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: 

This job is Part-Time Mornings/Days, Sunday's are a must. it Pays $11.34 hourly Mon-Fri and $12.47 hourly on Sat and Sun. There is a $0.50 raise at 6 months.

Operate or tend washing machines to wash all hotel laundry. This position serves as a trainer. Trainers are responsible for supervising the learning experience of students in all areas of The Hotel at Kirkwood Center, The Kirkwood Center for Hospitality Arts, and The Kirkwood Center for Continuing Education.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate or tend washing machines to wash all hotel laundry.  
  • Mix chemicals.
  • Operate and maintain laundry equipment.
  • Maintain compliance with required training.
  • Coach and nurture students.
  • Serve as a resource for students.
  • Perform other related work duties as assigned.
  • Sort and count articles and fold, wrap, or hang them. 
  • Examine and sort into lots articles to be cleaned.
  • Inspect soiled articles.
  • Maintain compliance with required training.
  • Regular and consistent attendance at work.
  • Perform other related work duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

Position involves working in a laundry setting. Occasional (10-33%) sitting, lifting up to 100 pounds. Frequent (34-66%) walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling.  Constant (67-100%) standing, using hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 25 pounds.   

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 18 years old.

  • Post high school degree.
  • The equivalent education and related work experience.
