Senior House Coordinator

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois

Required Shifts:

1:30p-9:30 pm with a set schedule of Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturday & Sunday with additional flex hours.

This position will work approximately 35 hours per week.

Duties:

House Operations

  • Register guests entering the RMH.
  • First-line responsibility for cleanliness and maintenance of RMH guestrooms and public spaces.
  • Communicate with night and weekend staff to ensure consistent and seamless implementation of RMH policies and procedures, providing oversight as needed.
  • Provide oversight to volunteers and assign duties when needed.
  • Supervise House Associate performance both on an ongoing basis with regular feedback and for the purpose of Annual Performance Reviews.
  • Provide Operations Director with input regarding updates or changes to the RMH Operations Manual
  • Work with hospital social workers for continued monitoring of family needs.
  • Track and report needed data for monthly statistics.
  • Mange RMH daily census.
  • Provide the Operations Director with input regarding areas of improvement for staff, volunteers, guests and physical plant.
  • Report maintenance needs to the Operations Director.

Hospitality

  • Facilitate a positive, collaborative relationship with RMH volunteers, Hospital staff, and Donors
  • Create a caring and compassionate family experience for all using the RMH facilities.
  • Interact with families with the intent of identifying their needs and seeking solutions.
  • Welcome and steward drop in donors and visitors

Fundraising

  • Assist with RMHC-EIWI fundraising events as directed by Development team
  • Communicate with Development Director regarding potential donors.
  • Work with Development Director for opportunities to involve families with donor thank you process.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in staff meetings.
  • Coordinate and participate in RMH tours as needed.
  • Represent RMHC-EIWI in a positive manner and serve as a spokesperson and advocate when needed.
  • Perform other duties related to RMHC-EIWI as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Associate's degree plus 2 years of experience in a related field required or
  • In lieu of a degree, 7-10 yrs. of relevant experience in a related field
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to people of diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to work in a flexible, team oriented environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet frequent deadlines and be self-disciplined.
  • Self-directed and able to successfully complete projects assigned with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to lead and direct small teams to accomplish tasks.
  • Ability to walk, sit, use hands, climb steps and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
