United Way of East Central Iowa is seeking a visionary leader to join their team who is innovative, engaging, collaborative and is results driven.  UWECI is the trusted leader and catalyst for envisioning and creating positive community change with focus areas of education, financial stability, and health.
 
 
The new President/Chief Executive Officer will be expected to:
  • Lead the organization, establishing a vision for Community Impact that is achieved through the efforts of a diverse team of high performing leaders, staff and volunteers alike.
  • Leverage the power of relationships and networks, and work across private, public and corporate sectors to improve conditions in the community.  
  • Possess a high level of broad business and management skills and is effective at generating resources and financial support for the organization.
  • Be dedicated to shared and measurable goals for the common good – creating, resourcing, scaling, and leveraging strategies for broad investment and impact.  
  • Be a brand steward and understand his/her role in growing and protecting the reputation of United Way.  
  • Have responsibility for building trust in United Way and its relevance in the community.
The President/Chief Executive Officer position will be most successful with the following qualifications:  
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent high-level executive experience.
  • Demonstrates a high levels of innovation, curiosity, vision, and strategy.
  • Experience working in multiple sectors, including non-profits, public and corporate environments, and interaction with volunteers and diverse boards.
  • Experience in building revenue and increasing philanthropic support.
  • Experience in leading and managing organizations of comparable size and mission, as well as capacity to build productive teams and community partnerships.
  • Ability to build enduring relationships that gain the confidence and respect of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated track record of promoting diversity and inclusion and building collaboration with the community at-large.
  • Strong sense of community
