Shelter House is hiring part-time Coordinators to work in our facilities at Cross Park Place, Southgate Emergency Shelter, and Temporary Winter Shelter. These evening and overnight part-time positions are critical to meeting our mission at Shelter House and are a great fit for new graduates or college students looking to develop a career in human services, social work, and the nonprofit sector and even grow with us into full-time roles.

Coordinators are the first face to the public in our facilities and programs and are responsible for providing a welcoming environment to guests, tenants, clients, donors, volunteers, and the general public. Coordinators provide oversight and supervision of the facilities during evening and overnight hours so that a safe and healthy environment is maintained at all times. They communicate information regarding services and other housing interventions to our guests, clients, and tenants and must maintain an organized, clean and productive work environment and ensure that all services are confidential.

We ask that Coordinators have a high school diploma or GED and a positive attitude. Patience and the ability to work well under pressure is key, as well as effective written and verbal communication skills. Experience working with persons in poverty or disabilities is preferred, but not required.
