Our facility providing residential care for children is EXPANDING. The Inpatient Behavioral Crisis Counselor must have strong written and verbal communications skills, strong assessment and crisis de-escalation.

As an Inpatient Behavioral Crisis Counselor, you will provide leadership, direction and assistance for the campus, ensuring quality milieu treatment of clients/consumers in all cottages and provide support in crisis intervention as needed.  You will provide orders for special treatment procedures (if licensed), ensuring appropriate usage and assessment.

This position will work with staff and clients in the PMIC (Psychiatric Medical Institute for Children) and the ICF/ID (Intermediate Care Facility for Intellectually Disability) settings.

Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science, social work, psychology, human services or related discipline OR a Licensed Practical Nurse, OR Registered Nurse. Licensure at a bachelor’s level preferred.  Iowa license required within 90 days of hire.

Schedule is second shift, 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.; weekends required.
