TRAINING & COMMUNICATION COORDINATOR
LCCS/OPTIONS OF LINN COUNTY
Part-time position (30 hours/week) to monitor, coordinate and provide training for Options’ staff. Prepares and coordinates communications and reports for internal and external customers. Schedules/provides trainings including CPR, Mandatory Reporter and Physical Intervention. Maintains training controls; coordinates/monitors the continuing education program for all staff members; maintains Paid Leave controls, Matter Safety Data Sheets, and Client Incidents files; coordinates/compiles the annual customer satisfaction surveys; monitors progress on Option’s Strategic Plan and Marketing Plan and updates the Plans, accordingly; edits/publishes Options’ newsletter and updates the Options’ website; coordinate intake meetings, conducts facility tours and explains programs; organizes the annual consumers’ Award Night event, coordinates speakers, and prepares invitations and announcements; assists with development of the monthly activity calendars and securing funding authorizations; performs all other related duties as assigned. Work is performed under the supervision of the Options Director.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation, psychology, social work, education, communications, or business with an emphasis in marketing is required. One (1) to three (3) years of recent experience (within the past five (5) years) developing, coordinating and monitoring training programs and supervising staff; or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Knowledge of day programming needs of people with disabilities; ability to work with a team concept in a fast-paced and demanding work environment; ability to plan and supervise the work of others and apply policies and procedures uniformly; ability to work with a computer and have knowledge of basic word-processing and spread sheet programs. Skill in written and oral communications. Valid Iowa Driver’s License required. Must pass a County physical examination which includes a drug test after offer of employment. Regular work attendance required.
SHIFT: 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
