Job Information:


The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for management and leadership of Southeast Linn Community Center (SELCC) which exists to:
•Advocate for our communities and their citizens
•Identify and address social and human care needs
•Enrich relationships in our communities
•Work in partnership with public agencies and private groups to maximize existing resources
•Encourage and nurture community-based volunteerism

Hours:  36 per week

•The Executive Director reports to and works in close partnership with the Board of Directors

•Ensure the program objectives are met by overseeing the daily operations of all programs, services, activities, and facilities
•Prepare and maintain statistical and historical data for all programs
•Hire, fire, train, supervise and evaluate staff, volunteers and vendors to meet program goals in accordance with agency policies, state and federal laws
•Ensure staff, volunteers and vendors interact in an informed, professional and effective manner
•Monitor receipts, expenditures, cash flow and report to the board monthly on the financial status of the agency
•Prepare and submit the written monthly Director’s Report and other required reports prior to monthly board meeting
•Apply for all funds in a timely fashion and keep board informed of outcomes
•Assist the board in preparing annual budget
•Provide support and organize fund-raising events
•Make appropriate client referrals to other area human service agencies
•Communicate issues, opportunities, policy and personnel decisions to the board in a timely manner
•Implement policies as approved by the board
•Maintain contact with key individuals including, but not limited to, funding sources, religious, civic and government leaders
•Ensure a visible and effective public image by regular use of media, speaking engagements and attendance at appropriate public functions
•Other duties may be assigned by the Board of Directors

•Prefer at least a two year degree
•Experience in not-for-profit public agency management, business, education, or public/private human or social service agency
•Knowledge of fiscal management and budgeting
•Grant writing experience desirable
•Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills
•Ability to work independently and in a team environment
•Basic computer skills
•Ability to analyze and effectively resolve problems
•Flexibility to attend meetings, events, workshops and seminars outside of agency’s normal hours of operation
