Salary Range: $16.95 - 24.69

Starting salary is determined based upon factors that may include: years of relevant experience, education, applicable certifications/licensure, and internal equity.

Position Summary

The Human Resources Office Assistant is essential to the daily operation of the Human Resources office.  This is a forward facing, high customer contact position serving as the first point of contact for all those who visit the Human Resources office and the primary point of contact for the office’s main phone line. The Office Assistant supports all HR team members by assisting customers to determine their needs and collaborating with team members to fulfill those needs. The Office Assistant will also answer basic Human Resources related questions and provide resources to customers.

Job Duties

  • Primary point of contact in Human Resources for all in person office visitors and phone calls.  

  • Demonstrates kindness, compassion, and professionalism in all interactions with employees, leaders, providers, physicians, vendors, and all others.   

  • Answer phones, determine customer needs, and route calls as appropriate. 

  • Provides administrative support for HR functional areas including total rewards, payroll, talent acquisition, etc. 

  • Assists with preparation for new employee orientation, including preparing first day materials, communicating with leaders and presenters, coordinating refreshments, etc. 

  • Coordinates volunteer assignments and tasks.  

  • Files materials in a timely manner; sorts and distributes mail and performs other office related tasks. 

  • Creates meeting appointments, maintains calendars, coordinates arrangements for meetings, including arranging for rooms, audio-visual equipment, etc. 

  • Processes a variety of materials and assists with data entry.  

  • Serves as a resource person, responds to inquiries, and may provide interpretation of departmental policies and procedures. 

  • Updates departmental lists, policy, and procedure manuals.  

  • Orders office supplies and reconciles department credit card statements.  

  • Uses electronic media to communicate throughout the hospital. 

  • Performs other duties as assigned.  

Minimum Requirements:


  • Any combination of office related experience -or- post high school training or education equivalent to 2 years or greater is required.   

  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service is required.  

  • Experience working in healthcare, -or- basic knowledge of human resources, employee benefits, or insurance plans is highly desirable.  

  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is required.
