Director of Human Resources

Primary Function:

Manage the day to day, as well as strategic objectives of Human Resources, including recruitment, compensation and benefit administration, training and development, safety and wellness, and performance management. Will pursue initiatives to continuously develop and improve human resource strategies and policies in support of overall business goals and organizational engagement.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of Human Resources, Training and Safety
  • Oversee recruiting and retention efforts, strategies, and external partnerships to meet staffing demands
  • Guide competitive compensation and benefit decisions based on market data, and performance
  • Ensure training programs support growth and development and records meet QMS requirements
  • Maintain a safe work environment and promote the safety, health and well-being of employees
  • Champion strategic initiatives to continue developing overall organizational strategies and a culture of engaged employee owners
  • Assist in providing leadership direction to the ESOP, Safety, and Events Committees
  • Promote positive employer/employee/community relations through coordination of related activities
  • Oversee disciplinary actions, terminations, work comp, unemployment and other investigations
  • Ensure HR policies, procedures and records comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Provide HR training and collaborate with all levels of management to ensure proper compliance
  • Coach and develop HR team to maintain adequately trained staffing
  • Manage departmental budget, control costs and report on HR metrics
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.


  • Degree in HR Management, Business Management with HR emphasis, or other related field
  • 5+ yrs. of HR Management experience, or 10+ yrs. of related work experience with progressive leadership experience
  • Possess critical thinking skills with the ability to provide guidance in challenging situations
  • Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Must maintain confidentiality, integrity and accuracy
  • Ability to drive strategic initiatives, while maintaining tactical responsibilities
  • Solid computer skills
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule, including overtime if needed
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Ability to stand, sit and move around the facility varying amounts.
