Human Resources and Payroll Coordinator

The Human Resources office seeks a service and process-oriented HR & Payroll Coordinator.  This position will join a small and fast-paced department with a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. The HR & Payroll Coordinator will primarily be responsible for payroll and monthly time reporting, as well as serving as an HR Generalist supporting the department. The successful candidate will be highly proficient in technology and process, while understanding that process should serve our community equitably and with compassion and kindness.

Essential job responsibilities:

  • Prepare, process, generate and balance payroll for employees and students. Keep records for all information in the administrative software system.
  • Serve as the department resource for the HRIS database, utilizing reports to ensure data integrity, meet compliance obligations, and supporting the AVP for HR in procuring data to analyze needs for the institution.
  • Serve as a point of contact for the recruitment processes at Coe, prioritizing Coe’s strategic commitment to diversity and inclusion in recruitment from job description development to onboarding.
  • Supervise 1-4 work student students, assigning daily tasks and providing development opportunities.


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or a related field required, or commensurate experience.
  • 1-2 years of human resources experience. Payroll and benefit experience preferred.
  • Successful completion of a background check in accordance with Coe College policy.
