The University of Iowa Human Resources is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to provide full-cycle recruitment services for assigned colleges and divisions on campus. This recruitment specialist will assist in developing and administering processes to effectively attract, select, and on-board high performing staff to accomplish the University mission. All duties will involve the use of personal computers, a variety of software (including but not limited to a variety of Microsoft products, and Applicant Tracking Systems), and will exercise independent judgement, a high level of confidentiality, and attention to detail and accuracy.

Talent Acquisition

Talent Acquisition provides strategic direction to campus recruiters and departments involved in the search and selection process for staff positions. TA also develops and maintains the university's job posting and applicant management systems as well as related policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Education or Equivalency Required:

A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Marketing, Communications or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience (typically 1-3 years) in a recruiting/talent-acquisition role, involving full-cycle recruitment activities.
  • Typically, 1-year experience focused on sourcing, candidate development or contract recruiting in professional services, higher education, corporate or a recruiting agency environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicant tracking solutions (ATS/CMS tools), online sourcing and research tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and task oriented.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including polished phone, oral presentation, email and social media etiquette.
  • Demonstrated experience with or commitment to diversity in the work or academic environment.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action policies.
  • Previous experience sourcing and recruiting underrepresented candidates.
