The University of Iowa’s College of Engineering is seeking a self-motivated, dynamic, and collaborative human resources professional to serve as HR Generalist. This position assists in the implementation of HR strategy by supporting a broad array of programs and services, including talent acquisition, onboarding, compensation, learning & development, and employee engagement. The College is comprised of nearly 600 faculty, staff, graduate assistants, and post-doctoral researchers who play an integral role in the College’s mission and vision.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 
  • Serve as trusted resource on employment-related matters for all who work in the College; 
  • Manage the talent acquisition process; Interpret and implement HR policies and procedures; 
  • Advise on and assist leaders with performance coaching, employment investigations and progressive discipline; Develop and deliver training; 
  • Prepare and analyze HR reports and metrics.
Required qualifications include:
  • a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and at least 3 years’ experience in a human resources generalist, recruiter, or employee relations role.
