Folience, an Iowa-based, ESOP-owned holding company, is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join our Shared Services Finance & Accounting team.

The Payroll Administrator will have the following responsibilities:
  1. Serves as domain subject matter expert for payroll procedures and laws
  2. Administration and set up of third-party payroll system, ADP. Day to day liaison with ADP payroll account manager
  3. Responsible for accurate and timely processing bi-weekly payroll and payroll exceptions for the company
  4. Review calculations for payroll wage allocations, labor accruals, PTO accruals, benefit deduction and contributions, special compensation (e.g., non-qualified or executive compensation), and general ledger coding for accuracy and completeness
  5. Ensure proactive and timely payroll communication to all employees and managers
  6. Conducts and/or participates quarterly and annual audits including ESOP, 401k, and EEO-1 Annual Reporting. 
  7. Stays current on federal, state, and local payroll and payroll tax laws and regulations for compliance
  8. Help maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and auditing payroll data. 
  9. Write, maintain, and test ad hoc reports and queries using appropriate tools and guidance.
  10. Fulfill employment verification and process unemployment insurance claims.
  11. Generate quarterly and annual reports for state and federal unemployment.  
  12. Trains designated personnel on payroll back-up and ensures detailed and updated procedures are documented and readily available
Requirements:
  • This position requires a bachelor’s degree in human resources, accounting, business, or related field, and three + years’ relevant experience. 
  • Payroll certification preferred.
