Creative Management, Inc. DBA McDonald’s is looking for a vibrant, energetic professional to join our growing team as the Director of Human Resources. This critical role will oversee a workforce of 1,000 employees in 18 locations across Eastern and Central Iowa. 

The Human Resources Director creates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes quality, creativity, productivity and standards. In this role you will continually champion the recruitment, development and retention of a superior workforce by providing the critical connection between upper-management and restaurant staff. You will spark morale and excitement in our restaurants, raising an already high performing company to the next level. Responsibilities:
  • Provides daily guidance and support to Operations through coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions.
  • Leads recruiting efforts to ensure effective, efficient and legally compliant processes; trains managers to recruit and assess talent consistently, effectively and in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Works closely with Operations to improve team relationships, boost morale and further employee retention efforts.
  • Partner with Operations to ensure application and adherence of company policies, processes and practices.
  • Provide direct communication with employees about compensation, benefits and other employment related matters.
  • Maintain working knowledge of state/federal legal requirements related to day-to-day workforce management.
  • Conduct effective, thorough and objective workplace investigations.
  • Partner with Operations to provide a timely response and resolution to employee concerns and complaints.
  • Actively participate in Operations meetings to ensure process and policy efficacy/consistency in the restaurants.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, business administration or related field required.
  • Professional certification (SHRM-CP/PHR) a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive human resources experience. Multi-unit experience a plus.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 
  • Working knowledge of human resource functions including: full-cycle recruitment, training, payroll practices, performance management, culture development, employee relations, federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Commitment to “Hands-On” leadership that provides a positive and approachable presence in our restaurants
  • Excellent project, planning an time management skills 
  • Ability to communicate with and influence diverse groups effectively 
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills including presentation/training delivery
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
