Job Summary: 

The Human Resources Manager is a key member of the business unit’s leadership team and is responsible for understanding the business strategy and subsequently supporting and/or developing the people who execute that strategy at all levels of our organization. Under the direction of the president, and through partnership with other business unit Human Resources professionals, and corporate leadership, this position will ensure consistent application of policies, procedures and best practices within assigned business unit.


Job Responsibilities

  1. Coaching Managers/Supervisors. 
    • Fosters a culture of personal and professional growth through continuous learning, accountability and service to others within our company and community.

  2. Manages all recruitment and retention efforts for the business unit
  3. Aggressively recruit and manage open positions to find strong candidates for stakeholders.
  4. Utilize and manage candidate flow through HRIS system
  5. Collaborate with stakeholders to write and review job ads and get them posted in appropriate places
  6. Creatively network and pro-actively approach passive candidates to encourage them to enter the candidate funnel.
  7. Prepares analysis regarding turnover, exit interview data and other relevant data
  8. Responsible for the onboarding of new employees, including the development and coordination of the program. 
  9. Manage and review legal claims. 
  10. Worker's Compensation, FMLA and leave administration, unemployment, civil rights, depositions and OSHA complaints
  11. Investigate, respond, administer and manage claims to ensure closure
  12. Collaborate with corporate human resources on monthly, or as needed, discussions and reviews with worker’s compensation administrator.
  13. Investigate and resolve employee relations issues
  14. Coach supervisors and managers on handling employee issues
  15. Ability to make timely and informed decisions and understand when to escalate issues
  16. Review business unit policies and procedures for compliance with company and legal practices.
  17. In partnership with Corporate Human Resources will provide input on corporate employee handbook, and update and maintain the GCI aspect of the handbook.
  18. Expected to remain current on best practices and regulations related to human resources and employee relations, through networking and other available resources.
  19. Partners with business unit managers on organizational design matters, including appropriate titles and job descriptions.
  20. Process personnel actions and ensure accurate and timely data entry and file management.
  21. Collaborate with HR Cohort on companywide initiatives such as training, development, and compliance
  22. Maintains confidentiality of information
  23. Performs related duties as assigned/needed.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Six to ten years of experience in a human resources function. PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
