Employment Consultant (Nurse Recruiter)
Mercy is seeking a passionate, results oriented recruiting professional to connect and place nurses in professional opportunities within Mercy Medical Center. Our recruiters work in a challenging, fast-paced environment and serve as an ambassador for The Mercy Touch. A successful candidate will work independently to establish relationships with nursing students, job seekers and candidates, internal managers, and represent Mercy throughout the community.
The primary responsibilities for this position will be Nurse Recruiting. Three years Human Resources experience is required; however, licensed clinical experience is applicable for this position.
This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by providing Human Resources services and support to internal and external customers in a timely, accurate, consistent, compassionate, and respectful manner. Job Specific Duties/Essential Functions:
•Coordinates overall hiring process to ensure staffing needs are met for assigned departments. Hiring includes Mercy employees and contract staff.
•Recruits a viable pool of candidates through timely posting of positions, applicable advertising, sourcing and attendance at career fairs.
•Schedules and conducts in person and telephone interviews to effectively screen candidates.
•Assesses and evaluates candidates through various tools including checking references and conducting background checks, as well as completing all necessary documentation and pre-hire paperwork to prepare offer to the selected candidate.
•Extends job offers to candidates and act as an information source throughout the onboarding process. Completes all post-offer paperwork and functions to complete onboarding process.
•Maintains application tracking system through the accurate input and updating of data that reflects the applicant's status in the recruiting process.
•Collaborates with managers to hire and retain employees who are the best qualified, best fit and culturally align with Mercy Medical Center. Advise managers in hiring with best practices in mind.
•Supports team members with day to day functions and assist with projects that impact HR.
•Assists all employees with inquiries in regard to HR policies, benefits, career counseling and employee relations issues. Act as a positive representative of the HR team through timely and accurate communication.
•Administers HR functions while ensuring both internal and external compliance standards are met including hospital specific regulations, employment laws and internal equity measures with compensation and hiring practices.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Computer skills, including Microsoft products, and HRIS systems.
•Good organizational/time management skills, with the ability to work productively in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.
•Ability to effectively interact and work collaboratively with both and internal customers, and to represent Mercy in a positive manner.
•Excellent customer service skills.
•Good verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
Professional Experience- Required vs. Preferred:
•A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Human Resources administration is required. Will consider licensed clinical experience in lieu of HR experience.
Education-Required vs. Preferred:
•Bachelor's degree with a major in Human Resources, business or related field or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
•Health care experience and HR experience highly desirable.
Licensure, Certification, Registration - Required vs. Preferred:
•Professional in Human Resources preferred.
