Cedar Rapids Eye Care is looking for an energetic and motived person to join our team!
We have a 100-year history as being a family friendly, full-scope, locally-owned Optometric practice. We are proud of the practice environment we have created and would love to find a new addition to our work family. We see patients of all ages, including a large pediatric population.
Requirements:
- Applicants must be team oriented and comfortable working with all ages. We are looking for dependable self-starters who are able to multi-task, problem solve, and deliver exceptional patient-centered service.
- We are willing to train the right person.
- In addition, it is expected that our new team member will uphold the professionalism of our office and our core mission statement.
Duties will include the following:
- Positive First Impression: Greeting patients with a friendly and welcoming demeanor upon their arrival at the office to ensure they feel valued and comfortable from the moment they walk in.
- Patient Registration: Ensuring accurate and up-to-date patient information in the office system.
- Answering phones and assisting patients with basic glasses and contact lens questions.
- Check-In and Check-Out Procedures: Verifying patient information, checking them in for their appointment, and handling check-out procedures.
- Handling Payment Transactions: Collecting co-pays, deductibles, and other payments, and providing receipts as needed.
- Answering Phones: Fielding incoming calls, scheduling appointments, and addressing patient inquiries.
- Triage and Appointment Scheduling: Assessing the nature of patient needs over the phone, determining the appropriate type of eye exam, and scheduling appointments accordingly.
- Insurance Verification: Verifying patients' insurance coverage, explaining benefits, and assisting with insurance-related inquiries.
- Coordinating with Clinical Staff: Communicating effectively with optometrists and other clinical staff to ensure a seamless patient experience.
- Resolving Patient Issues: Addressing and resolving patient concerns or issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintaining a Clean Reception Area: Keeping the front desk and waiting area tidy and welcoming.
- Appointment Reminder Calls: Making reminder calls to patients in advance of their scheduled appointments.
- Maintaining Patient Flow: ensuring that patients move through the office efficiently, minimizing wait times and keeping appointments on schedule.
All of these duties above collectively contribute to an efficient and patient-focused environment in an optometric office.
