CT Radiology Tech

Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa is seeking a full time CT Technologist to perform imaging exams for our busy multi-specialty clinic. Dual ARRT MRI board certification preferred but not required.
This individual will perform CT and MRI diagnostic imaging exams according to the established policies and procedures, methods and standards to provide quality patient care for all PCI specialties.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:
- Maintain EHR documentation of examinations ordered and performed including proper pre-authorization and coding for reimbursement.
- Obtains and documents patient clinical health history.
- Perform quality diagnostic high modality studies as defined by established protocols and best practice guidelines.
- Patient exam preparation including intravenous access techniques, patient and family education, communication with referring physicians and radiologists.
- Additional clerical appointment scheduling and patient transport duties as necessary.
- Proficient in exam archiving, exam navigation, exam exporting in multiple PACS programs.
- Perform other patient care duties within the scope of practice and to the departmental standards including safety related work behaviors.
- Under the supervision of a physician, performs intravenous contrast injections hand techniques and power injector usage.
- Cross train and assists in Radiology Department as needed.
- Performs and maintains quality assurance testing for daily equipment and accreditation compliance.
- Must work well as an integral part of patient care focused team.
Requirements:
- The qualified candidate should have the ability to perform all CT (and MRI procedures if board certified) demonstrating sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology so that independent selection and modification of technical factors may produce optimal results.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and teamwork are needed to work effectively with patients, department and PCI staff.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to work independently required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
- Excellent computer skills also required.
- Must be a graduate of an approved A.R.R.T. program with current A.R.R.T registration and Iowa Permit to Practice license in Radiography.
- Board certification in both CT and MRI is preferred.
- Minimally (CT) board certification is required for candidate to be considered.
- Minimum 3 years CT and MRI clinical experience preferred.
- CPR certification required- ACLS preferred.
