Director of Healthcare Administration Program

Upper Iowa University is seeking applicants for the Director of Healthcare Administration Program.  

This is a full-time, 12-month tenure-track Fayette or online faculty position with release time for administrative responsibilities to serve the Master of Healthcare Administration program.

This includes:

  • Teaching courses in the Master of Healthcare Administration program 
  • Management of program operations and program oversight for assessment and curriculum relevancy 
  • Online scheduling 
  • Admission review 
  • Hiring/evaluating adjunct instructors 
  • Academic advising, etc. 

Essential Duties Summary

  • Teaching load of 12 credit hours.
  • Review courses each session to continually evaluate the quality of content and teaching, rigor at the master’s level and integrate best practices.
  • Evaluate course and program student learning outcomes and assessment to drive course and program improvement pursuant to University assessment and accreditation criteria.
  • Hire, mentor, coach and assist adjunct faculty for best practices in teaching and course development.
  • Experience with the healthcare administration industry and business program candidacy and accreditation.
  • Active in recruitment activities including orientation, advising and registration day
  • Prepare and approve course master schedule for online.
  • Undergraduate and graduate curriculum review and development with consideration of all stakeholders including the HSA advisory board.
  • Program assessment integration and analysis for recommendations to the curriculum.
  • Manage textbook editions and changes with input from faculty.
  • Maintain professional certifications appropriate for the industry
  • Maintain efficiency in technology as appropriate for the industry
  • Student Advising
  • Participation in University governance
  • Participate in or conduct scholarly and/or professional development activities
  • Faculty responsibilities as described in the Faculty Handbook.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or DBA in Healthcare Administration or a closely related field
  • 15 – 18 credit hours of coursework in the field at the graduate level
  • Hold current licensing in nursing home administration or related health services administration license
  • Teaching traditional/non-traditional undergraduate and/or graduate face-to-face and online courses
  • Working experience with obtaining and maintaining accreditation in the industry
  • Working knowledge of technologies used in health services
  • Ability to pass a background check.
